This is the first machine in the world created to work on the vineyard canopy at a variable rate. The 111 VRT leaf-stripper has been devised to enable controlled working in the vineyard, not removing leaves in a uniform way, as with all the previous equipment, but controlled depending on the higher or lower presence of vegetation in different parts of the same vineyard. The process we are putting forward uses a telemeasuring system to create index maps of vegetation, to be used as a guide to identify areas for high or medium levels of leaf removal, as well as a total lack of leaf removal for areas with low vegetative vigour.
The electronics on both the SAME DEUTZ FAHR and our equipment use the new communication standard ISOBUS.

Questa macchina utilizza il nuovo standard di comunicazione elettronica ISOBUS e può essere quindi governata da un trattore già dotato di monitor virtuale acquisibile in prima fornitura con il trattore SAME oppure con il terminale virtuale DICKEY-john IntelliAg 10?? da noi distribuito ed applicabile a qualunque tipo di trattrice agricola. Questo terminale è in grado di gestire anche tutte le altre applicazioni ISOBUS in generale ed in particolare il concimatore VRT di nostra produzione con un sensibile abbattimento dei costi di acquisto.
Con il termine ISOBUS ci si riferisce alla norma ISO 11783 ?trattori e macchine per l?agricoltura e la deforestazione: rete seriale per il controllo e la comunicazione?. Grazie al sistema ISOBUS un unico terminale grafico (definito dalla norma Virtual Terminal) posto a bordo trattore può governare tutti gli attrezzi ISOBUS compatibili e gestire mappe a rateo variabile, inviando alla parte ISOBUS lato macchina in maniera automatica le indicazioni di cambio di dose quando l?attrezzatura si sposta da una area ad una altra con differente prescrizione
Our leaf stripper has been created in such a way as to be able to remove the leaves in a controlled manner and to manage the quantity of leaves eliminated according to the real need of the various areas of the same vineyard. For this purpose, the vineyard prescription maps are created (easily originated from the force maps) expressed in kg of leaves removed per hectare. These maps are managed by ISOBUS electronics and by suitable actuators allowing us to perform a high level of peeling in high-vigor areas, a moderate peeling in the intermediates up to the total absence of peeling for areas with lower vegetative vigor. As the tractor reaches the different zones of different prescriptions, recognized on the basis of the geographical position detected by the GPS antenna, the working mode of the machine is then changed, bringing it closer to what could lead a very expert operator in manually executing the flaking.

In the following images you can see the machine at work. The vineyard has been charted from flight and a vigour map in NDVI (Normalized Differential Vegetation Index) has been reconstructed, from which the prescription map has been made in terms of kg/ha of leaves removed. It is a georeferenced map where the winery’s technician has indicated the level of leaf removal to be done. Maximum levels of leaf removal have been assigned to the most vigorous area, medium intensity of leaf removal (with respect to the maximum) to the intermediate area, while for the least vigorous area (which normally tends to lose leaves spontaneously during more advanced phenological stages) it was established that there should be no leaf removal.

Questa tecnica rivoluzionaria fa si che l?opera della macchina emuli la saggezza dell?uomo e permetta di intervenire sul vigneto con un alto grado di rispetto del medesimo, distinguendone le esigenze sitospecifiche e trattandole in maniera diversa tra loro. Ciò fa di essa la prima macchina mai realizzata al mondo per operazioni sulla chioma che sia dotata di intelligenza geografica.
